Cinnamon Applesauce Gift Tag Recipe
Activate all the senses when you give gifts this year by including a fragrant cinnamon applesauce gift tag. (Plus, it’s a great activity to keep the kids occupied during Christmas break!) Here, we’ve outlined the entire process for making these sweet-smelling delights.
Ingredients
1 cup ground cinnamon
¾ cup applesauce
2 tablespoons white glue
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg or cloves
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mixing until well combined and dough begins to form.
Sprinkle some cinnamon on a cutting board or a smooth surface to prevent sticking. Then, empty the dough mixture onto the surface. Knead several times and press firmly into the shape of a ball. Next, roll your dough flat, about 1/4 inch thick.
Using Christmas cookie cutters, or any other shapes your kiddos enjoy, cut out your festive holiday designs, and lay them onto the parchment paper.
Using a straw, poke a hole in the gift tags where you want to tie string. Be sure to leave some space as a buffer, so the ornament doesn’t break.
Bake your cinnamon applesauce ornaments in the oven for 2 hours. Once you remove them from the oven and allow them to cool, add some ribbon or twine to each gift tag and attach them to your presents!
