Christmas Freebie: Applesauce Cinnamon Ornaments

Here at S. Flynn we are so excited that it is almost Christmas time and to spread a little bit of that Christmas cheer with you, we have another Freebie! We will be giving you a step-by-step process for making Applesauce Cinnamon Ornaments. This is a perfect activity to keep the kids occupied during Christmas break and also create memories you can keep and decorate with for a lifetime. Another way to use these ornaments is as gift tags which adds a little personal spark to the gift. I did this with my kids last year and they loved it! I had each kid pick out a cookie-cutter they wanted to use and we even did some for their cousins and for Mimi and Pop Pop.

We hope you enjoy these as much as we do!

Instructions

-Preheat your oven to 200 degrees.

-Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

-In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mixing until well combined and dough begins to form.

– Sprinkle the surface with extra cinnamon to avoid sticking, empty dough mixture onto the surface, and knead the dough, then roll into a ball.

-Roll out your dough flat, about 1/4 inch thick.

-Using your Christmas cookie cutters, or any cutters your kiddos might want to use to cut out cinnamon shapes and lay them onto the parchment paper.

-Using a drinking straw, poke a hole in the ornament where you want the string to go through.

-Leave a little bit of space as a buffer so the ornament does not break.

-Bake your applesauce cinnamon ornaments in the oven for 2 hours.

-Let your applesauce cinnamon ornaments cool, add some ribbon or twine to your ornament and hang.

We love the recipe from the Momma Lew blog! You can find the blog here!
